2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of social psychologist Stanley Milgram’s first journal article on his Obedience to Authority experiments. There will be an international conference to mark the occasion.
Obedience to Authority. Milgram’s experiments 50 years on will be held from August 6-8, 2013 at Nipissing University’s Bracebridge campus, two hours from Toronto in the beautiful Muskoka lake district of Ontario.
It can be noticed from the list of presenters that this world-first gathering is attracting leading international scholars on the obedience experiments. Researchers from fields as diverse as psychology, criminology, environmental science, philosophy, history, political science and sociology will be presenting their views on the value and meaning of the research today.
The organizers are currently calling for papers and poster presentations. The deadline for call for papers is May 15. For detailed information about the conference and suggested topics for papers and presentation click here.
